In Memory Of

Mrs. Lottie "Cissy" Ekard, age 79 of Conyers, died Tuesday, February 2, 2010.  A native of Hickory, NC, Mrs. Ekard was retired from Grinnell Fire Protection.  She was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church where she was very active in the Prime Timers Club and Choir.  She was a volunteer for the Conyers-Rockdale Council for the Arts, a member of the Red Hat Society, an avid reader and accomplished cook.  She loved to travel and especially cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was the widow of Loy W. Ekard, Jr., who predeceased her in 2005.  She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen and Charlotte Ekard of Loganville, Jeff and Sally Ekard of Jefferson; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Greg Hix of Conyers; brother, James P. Queen of Hickory, NC; grandchildren, Wes and Jackie Ekard, Jason and Mary Ekard, Stephanie Hix, Robby and Janet Smith, Jessica Smith; great-grandchildren, Jay Ekard, Chase Ekard, Samuel Smith.  The family will receive friends Thursday, February 4, 2010 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Scot Ward Funeral Services.  Funeral services will be held Friday, February 5, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Conyers, with Pastors Mike and CeCe Nickolich officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the JOASH FUND, Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 2533 Stanton Road, Conyers, GA  30094.  Scot Ward Funeral Services - Harry White Chapel, 1299 Milstead Ave., Conyers, GA 30012, 770-483-7216.
