In Memory Of

Mr. Marvin J. Goddard, age 80 of Newton County, formerly of Lithonia, Georgia passed away on June 30, 2009. He was born and raised in Lithonia, Georgia. He retired from Colonial Stores after 47 & ½ years of service. He was a long time member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Lithonia, GA and was currently a member of Oasis Faith Baptist Church in Social Circle. Mr. Goddard is survived by his wife of 60 years, Vennie Goddard; 3 children: Gary Goddard-Covington, GA, Gail King-Sparta, GA and Cathy Barfield-Marietta, GA He also has 4 grandchildren: Tara Mahan-Sparta, GA, Crystal Pritchett-Conyers, GA, Dottie Minskoff-Buford, GA and Chris Barfield-Marietta, GA and also 6 great grandchildren: Laine and Shelby Pritchett, Matt and Will Mahan, CJ Barfield and Lilly Minskoff. He is also survived by 3 brothers: David Goddard-Lithonia, GA, Leon Goddard-Tucker, GA, and Collie Goddard-Conyers, GA and 2 sisters: Eva Davis-Lithonia, GA and Lorene Hines-Mabelton, GA. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 2, 2009 at Scot Ward’s Harry White Chapel in Conyers, GA at  2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 1, 2009 from 2pm-4pm & 6pm-8pm.at the funeral home.  Rev. Nelson Goddard will officiate. He will be buried at Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery in Lithonia, GA.
