Karen Icida Magby

The extraordinary Karen Icida Magby was the middle child of Rupert Fuller and Carmen Marshall. She was raised by her MOM (Grandmother) Mabel V. Parks. Karen was born on March 19, 1977, in Brooklyn, New York along with her two brothers, Michael Perkinson and Kevin Fuller, who have preceded her in death. In 1982 at the tender age of five, the family made their way to Florida from New York. Karen made many lifelong friends in Miami where she was baptized at an early age and enjoyed spending her time laughing with those she loved. She attended Miami Norland Senior High School and graduated from American High School in Hialeah in 1995. After her time in Miami, she moved to California with her former husband Ernest Schettini with whom she had 4 beautiful children, Ernst, Javon, Steven and Jordan. After some time, Karen brought her family to Georgia where she began the best phase of her life. In 2013, she met the love of her life in the freezer section of Kroger in Stockbridge, GA, Hayward (Woodz) Magby. Together, they shared a life of love and joy with their only daughter, Karina. During her time in Georgia, Karen perfected her skills in interior design as reflected in the exquisite beauty of her home. She was an honor student at The Art Institute of Atlanta, pursuing a bachelor's degree in interior design, with plans to graduate in December 2023. She was an inspiring entrepreneur who successfully established multiple businesses including Mikele Hair Salon, Mikele Jadore Events, and Constituents Cigar, where she served as the head interior designer and co-owner alongside her husband. Additionally, she founded a not-for-profit organization called KTE (Kultivating Trained Equestrians) which aims to inspire young black girls to see the world from a different perspective. Mrs. 305 or Ms. KK, as she was fondly called by those who knew her best, was known for her giving and loving spirit and her fierce love for her family. She loved fast cars, riding horses, traveling and was always striving for that 'Yahoo' moment while she enjoyed life. It was truly inspiring to witness her admirable commitment towards entrepreneurship and philanthropy as she gave back to her community. Karen is survived by her husband, Hayward (Woodz) Magby, four sons, one daughter and four grandchildren. Her husband and children were the joys of her life. In addition to her husband and children, Karen is survived by her parents Rupert Fuller and Carmen Marshall. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 18, 2023 at 2 pm at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Dr. Gwendolyn D. Magby and Rev. Kevin Williams officiating.
