Born on December 29, 1944, Chester was the cherished son of the late Loyd Chester Walls and Mary Lou Walls. Chester was a man of deep passion and dedication. His love for sports, especially softball, was well-known and celebrated. As a softball coach for multiple years, Chester's guidance and encouragement were instrumental in shaping not just skilled athletes but also strong individuals. His players, who flourished under his mentorship, often remarked on his fairness, kindness, and unwavering support both on and off the field. Chester's coaching was not just about the game; it was about fostering community, building character, and creating lasting memories. A die-hard Georgia Bulldog fan, Chester could often be found cheering exuberantly at Sanford Stadium, his voice blending with the chorus of fellow fans. He was a true aficionado, his heart beating in rhythm with the game, embodying the spirit and pride of the University of Georgia. Chester's enthusiasm was infectious, and his presence was a staple at every game he attended. Beyond his love for sports, Chester's greatest joy came from his family. He was a devoted father to his daughters, Carese Rooks and Tonie Skinner, and his son, Ray Walls. Chester's legacy continues through his seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of his life. He relished every moment spent with them, whether it was cheering from the sidelines, sharing stories, or simply enjoying their company. His laughter and love will forever echo in their hearts. Chester also leaves behind his brother, Ed Walls, with whom he shared a lifelong bond rooted in shared memories and mutual respect. Together, they navigated life's challenges and celebrated its triumphs, always with a sense of humor and an unbreakable connection. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Loyd Chester Walls and Mary Lou Walls, whose values and teachings shaped Chester into the remarkable man he was. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 26, 2026 at 2:30 PM at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens.
