Deborah Joyce Kennedy

Deborah Joyce Kennedy, aged 71years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14, 2024, after an extended illness. Debbie was resting at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle, GA. When she left this world and moved to her heavenly home. A Memorial Service to celebrate Debbie's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Rockdale Baptist Church, 1295 Smyrna Rd. Conyers, GA 30094. Following the Celebration of Life Service, there will be a cookout in the Rockdale Baptist Fellowship Hall in honor of Debbie and her love for people and cookouts. Debbie's family includes her sister, Dianne Sullens and Jerry, of Conyers, GA, sister, Lynn Lewis and Vester of Murrayville, GA and her brother, Bruce Kennedy and Jessica of Decatur, GA. Debbie has numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and many friends. Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Brady W. Kennedy as well as her brother, Brady W. Kennedy Jr., and her sister, Collette Morris. Debbie was born March 15, 1953, in Douglasville, GA. Debbie lived her entire life in the Atlanta suburbs of Avondale, Stone Mountain, Lilburn and Snellville. She was 'special' from birth and always had a song or a party plan on her mind. She loved her friends at High Hope Center and Haven Developmental Group. Debbie loved 'hitting the road' as she called it and she even flew to Las Vegas, Nevada for a visit with dear family there. Debbie loved Gospel Music, Holiday Celebrations and the Atlanta Braves. Debbie was a Christ Follower and loved her time with her Rockdale Church family as well as 35 years as a member of Forrest Hills Baptist Church, and enjoyed her visits with Shiloh Primitive Baptist along with Mt. Moriah Baptist where she will be placed alongside her Mom and Dad. Debbie always looked forward to going to Heaven and seeing Jesus and her Loved Ones there. A special Thank You to all who loved Debbie and cared for her throughout the years. You know Debbie is celebrating more than we can comprehend at this moment.
