Della Marie Shattles

Della Marie Branan Shattles, age 86, of Conyers, GA, passed away on July 12, 2015. She is predeceased by her first husband, Alic Harvey Branan, Jr., and her second husband, Roy Lavalle Shattles. She is survived by; son, Alan H. Branan of Suwanee, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher R. and Lois Branan of Moriarty, NM; daughter, Martha B. Burns of Social Circle, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie B. and Henry Janowski of Tyrone, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Laura B. and Paul Shannon of Deltona, FL; stepson, Neil and wife Cheri Shattles of Winder, GA; stepdaughter Terressa and husband Daniel Womack of Covington, GA; stepson Anthony Shattles of Covington, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Nelle B. and Edgar W. Ennis of Albany, GA; 9 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church of Conyers, GA; previously a member of Glenwood Hills Baptist Church of Conyers, GA for over 50 years. During her life, she was a high school librarian, kindgergarten teacher and director, church secretary, church pianist, church librarian and member of church choirs. She was employed for 12 years by Scripto, Inc. in the accounting and credit department. She had a strong faith in the Lord which carried her to her last breath. Her constant expressions as she looked back over her life were "all I have needed, His hand has provided" and "His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me." She loved her family with all of her being. It was well known by everyone that she always loved people and playing the piano, but also had a fond place in her heart for cats. Viewing will be at Scot Ward Funeral Services, Conyers, GA on Tuesday, July 14 from 6-8pm. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 15 at 2pm at Gethsemane Baptist Church, 1066 Honey Creek Rd, Conyers, GA, preceded by a second viewing at 1pm. Conducting the service will be her former Pastor Dr. Ronald B. Long of Conyers, GA, along with current Pastor Rick A. Stucke of Conyers, GA. Interment will take place following the service at Resthaven Gardens of Memory, 2284 Candler Road, Decatur, GA.
