Edward Charles Liggett

Edward Charles Liggett of Conyers, Georgia passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024, of an undiagnosed illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose Anne King Liggett, of Roscommon, Ireland and Robert D. Liggett of Atlanta, Georgia and other family members. He is survived by his sisters, Patricia Liggett and Carol Liggett Dubal and Raymond Dubal of Conyers. His nephew and family, Brian and Ashley Bentley, great nephews, Finn and Rune of John's Creek, niece, Meagan and Shane, his great niece, Lyla Rose Birney of Ireland, and numerous other extended and blended family members as well as those friends he considered family. Ed had several career paths and hobbies through the years. He was the co-owner and chef of Cafe Sonata in Conyers, at different times he worked in construction, as an auto technician, in dental labs, devoted many years to Rockdale County Elections, was a Warranty Specialist at Anthony in Conyers, and most recently at Hitachi Manufacturing. He spoke highly of his coworkers. He loved taking things apart and even on occasions putting them back together! Edward was very proud of his Irish heritage; he enjoyed his involvement and work with the Hibernian Benevolent Society and other Irish groups. He enjoyed car races, the Knights of Columbus, trivia, gaming, traveling and especially spending time and keeping in touch with his lifelong friends. In lieu of flowers we are requesting that everyone give us a piece of our brother and you each use a piece of our brother. For us, we want your memories. Write, send a letter, note, song, quote, pictures, etc., sharing memories of Eddie that will be new for us. Share during the Wake or send privately. Tell stories, experiences, tales, and misdeeds of Eddie's life and how he impacted yours. The second part of this request in lieu of flowers is that you reconnect with old friends and family, a wake is one of those moments that you can meet up and reminisce. Make time to reconnect with family and friends. Send random texts, call for no reason, show up to help the person moving, meet up every couple of months. Put a little work in, while you still can and make more memories while there is still time. And remember Eddie when you do. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024, from 11:00 to 3:00 at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel. Condolences may be submitted on-line at www.scotward.com.
