Mildred Dean

Mrs. Mildred Moulder Dean of Conyers went home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 surrounded by family and friends. Mrs. Dean was born on August 9, 1922 in Suwanee, Georgia to the late Carl L. and Estella E. Moulder. She grew up on a farm in Buford, Georgia moving to Atlanta during World War II where she met and married the late Morris H. Dean, Jr. Prior to the birth of her children, she worked at Sears Roebuck as a records clerk. Mrs. Dean was predeceased by siblings Vanoy Moulder, Hugh Moulder, Lemel Moulder and Marie Harris. She was also predeceased by son-in-law, Jerry Waddell and daughter-in-law, Debbie Love. She is survived by daughter, Becky Waddell of Conyers, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Dean and Gary Grinstead of Annapolis, Maryland; and son, Morris (Sonny) Dean of Daytona Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Jeff and Elvira Waddell of Monticello, Georgia, Melissa and Alan Bridges of Lexington, Georgia and Hannah Dean of Daytona Beach, Florida; great-grandchildren, Audrey and Isabella Waddell and Jorge Sanchez. Mrs. Dean is also survived by sisters, Margaret Gainey of Hampton, Georgia, Wynette Sohail of Lawrenceville, Georgia; brothers, Hollis Moulder of Lilburn, Georgia, Felton Moulder of Union City, Georgia, Franklin Moulder of Concord, Georgia, Verlon Moulder of Danielsville, Georgia; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Dean was a wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed by all who knew her. She will be remembered for her amazing memory and wonderful stories. She was an avid gardener while her health permitted, sharing her home grown produce with family and friends. Mrs. Dean was a Girl Scout leader in the 1960's and an active member of the PTA holding several different offices while her children were in school. While her children were in school she also enjoyed a career with Fuller Brush Company allowing her the opportunity to meet many people. She was a member of Heritage Hills Baptist Church and loved to attend services and activities when she was able. Mrs. Dean was a life-long supporter of the March of Dimes and participated in neighborhood collections for the Mother's March as long as her health allowed. Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Dr. Doug Ferguson officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends Friday, February 7, 2014 from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the March of Dimes, Heritage Hills Baptist Church or your favorite charity.
