Neverson St. Jean

Neverson St. Jean, age 65, of Conyers, known fondly to friends and family as Nevo, transitioned from this life on Monday, January 16th. He was preceded in death by his parents, Whylie and Solange St. Jean, Siblings, Melvin & Rosanna. He is survived by his Wife, Blanche St. Jean; Children, Kristal St. Jean, Tresha St. Jean, and Stepchildren, Jem & Yohan Toulon; Grandson Joshua Walsh; Goddaughter, Makayla St. Rose; Siblings: Martina, Gabriel, Jonathan, Decima, Leonard, and Dolores St. Jean; Ex-wife, Christabel St. Aimie , Mother in law, Angeline De Pooter; his beloved puppy, Bella; Close Friends, Stanley and Sherna St. Rose, Thomas Norris, Junior Walsh, Gregory Joseph & Joel Matthew; several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. 'Nevo' was born in Boetica, 'The Shining City on the Hill' as he called it, on the island of Dominica, where he proudly served on the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force from 1978-1986. He was soft spoken, but was a fierce force to recon with when defending his beloved little island, Dominica. His wife referred to him as a gentle giant with a big heart, in that respect, standing at 6'2' tall. He moved to the US in 1986 and resided in Long Beach, California until he moved to Georgia in 2012: he worked as a truck driver for 27 years, until his passing. He did not miss a single day of work if he could avoid it. He loved football and was passionate in defending his favorite team, the Denver Broncos. He often lovingly antagonized his friend Stanley during football games. This passion also extended to his favorite soccer team, Manchester United, and basketball team, the LA Lakers. Nevo's daughters, Kristal and Tresha, were his world! He loved them immensely and was a proud father. He had a great appreciation for family and extended family. He made everyone feel welcome and comfortable in his home. He was loving, caring, kind, and gentle to all. He was a protector and best friend to his wife, Blanche. They did everything together, including building his man cave which was his sanctuary and spent most weekends going on dates at Lowes. He would loudly play his Dominican music while hanging out in his mancave by himself, or with his family. He was loved by everyone he met. His loud, infectious laugh would have anyone laughing along with him. He gave everyone around him their own unique nickname, which was filled with meaning and marked one's heart. Once you were given a nickname by Nevo, you were never called anything else by him, and you knew this nickname was yours and only yours, and you wore it with pride. Nevo had a slick and quick comeback for everything. He would have you laughing at yourself, not even realizing that the joke was on you. It was expected by all who knew and loved him. He loved playing dominoes, but more than anything else, he loved debating politics with any willing participant and was not afraid to express his views respectfully. He was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 2 pm at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12 - 2 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be submitted on-line at www.scotward.com.
