Patricia Diane Patrick

Patricia "Pat" Diane Edwards Patrick, of Greensboro, Georgia, and formerly living in Decatur and Dacula, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, November 4, at the age of 76. Pat, affectionately called "Pat-Pat", was born in Richmond, Virginia, on August 20, 1947, and the Edwards family moved to Milstead in 1960. Pat graduated from Rockdale County High School in 1965 and graduated from Young Harris College in 1967. Pat went on to attend the Medical College of Georgia and graduated in 1969 as a medical technologist. Pat married Charles L. Patrick, of Milstead, on October 12, 1969, and they were married for 53 years. She was employed by Emory Hospital before working at a private laboratory at P.S.P.A. The lab was later known as SmithKline Beecham and Quest Diagnostics, where she was employed for 26 years before working at Theragenics and Ameritox Laboratories prior to her retirement. Over the years, Pat's hobbies included volunteering as a Girl Scout leader, taking classes at Ursula's Cooking School, and creating stained glass and other crafts. Pat loved dogs, and in particular, the Sheltie breed, and owned four during her lifetime. She collected owls and adored anything purple. Pat was known for her generosity and spoiling her nieces and nephews with anything she could gift them that was monogrammed. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Katherine Edwards, brother, Kenny Edwards, and husband, Charles L. Patrick. She is survived by brothers Bill and Brenda Edwards of Madison, GA, Jerry and Jeanette Edwards of Homerville, GA, Ricky and Donna Edwards of Rutledge, GA, Steve and Miki of Madison, GA, sister Kathy Edwards of Madison, GA, and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Pat's memory to Young Harris College, P.O. Box 275, Young Harris, GA, 30582. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 2:00 PM at East View Cemetery with Rev. Zack Martin officiating.
