Wilma Katherine Hinshaw

Wilma Katherine Hinshaw, 86, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2026, in Milledgeville, Georgia. She was born on November 21, 1939, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and lived a life filled with love, family, hard work, music, and countless cherished memories. Wilma spent much of her life in Louisiana, where she worked as a secretary for the state. She later moved to Arkansas, where a new chapter in her life began. While working in a restaurant, Wilma fell in love with the warmth and atmosphere of the restaurant world. That love eventually led her and her husband, Milton Hinshaw, to move to Nashville, Tennessee, where they opened their own restaurant, Wilma Kaye's, together with their youngest son, Randal. Wilma poured her heart into the restaurant and treasured the time spent working alongside her family. Above all else, Wilma loved her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and wife whose kindness and loving nature touched the lives of those around her. She had a generous heart and a way of making the people she loved feel cared for. Her family was her greatest joy, and the memories she created with them will be treasured for generations to come. Wilma also had a deep love for country music and enjoyed singing. Music was a special part of her life, and her love of country music was something that brought her happiness throughout the years. She also had an unwavering love for dogs and loved dogs of all kinds. Her compassion and affection extended to the animals she encountered as naturally as it did to the people she loved. Wilma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Milton Hinshaw; her parents, Helen Hasha and Cecil Hasha; her sister, Judy Cheek; her sons, Michael Ramsey and Randal Ramsey; her daughter-in-law, Janell Ramsey; her grandson, Joshua Ramsey; and her great-granddaughter, Savanah Nelson. She is survived by her sister, Doris Crowell; her daughter, Kimberly Horner, and her husband, Kenneth Horner, Jr.; granddaughter, Michelle Ransom, and her husband, Jesse Ransom; grandson, Matthew Horner; granddaughter, Ashley Taylor, and her husband, Timothy Taylor, Jr.; granddaughter, Lesley Parkes, and her husband, James Parkes; great-granddaughters Evangeline Baxter, Cadence Baxter, Teagan Ransom, Merritt Ransom, Peyton Horner, Gracie Horner, Riley Juhan, and Isabelle Juhan; and great-grandson Crawford Juhan IV. Wilma leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she will be deeply missed, she will forever be remembered for her kind heart, loving spirit, beautiful voice, love of country music, affection for dogs, and - most of all - the love she gave so freely to her family.
