Mr. Alan Keith Fambrough, age 54 of Conyers, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 23, 2018, with family by his side. He was preceded by his parents, Harvey G. and Carol W. Fambrough. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Cherie Fambrough; daughters, Jada Fambrough and Kara Fambrough and her fiancé, Alhareth Almaroof; sister and brother-in-law, Dorinda and Barry Bishop; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Neil and Barbara Cleveland; mother-in-law, Suzanne Demaree; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Alan and Maria Cleveland; and sister-in-law Angela Williams. Alan is also survived by many nieces and nephews, Corinn Bishop Dunnavant (Paul), Maverick Bishop, Hudson Bishop, Sawyer Bishop, Weston Cleveland, Walker Cleveland, Megan Cleveland, Jillian Ramey, Gavin Holt, Charlie Lockhart (Candace), and Bodie Miller. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and lifelong friends. Alan was born and raised in Conyers, GA, where he later built his own family and a beautiful home. He grew up as a member of the Rockdale Baptist Church. He was a two-sport Letterman at Heritage High School, class of 1981. He continued his education at GA State University while he began his career with John Oatley Builders Hardware (JOBH). He was a certified Architectural Hardware Consultant, and he served the company for over 35 years as he worked his way up to President and Owner. A lifetime of dedication at JOBH created an irreplaceable family of coworkers, for whom he cared deeply. Alan was a lifelong sportsman and outdoorsman. He was always ready for a friendly competition whether on the golf course, basketball with his nephews, arm wrestling, or a game of pool. Alan also enjoyed traveling and deep-sea fishing with his friends. He was so proud of his two daughters’ accomplishments, and they were the light of his life. He cherished time with friends and family, and he will be deeply missed by many. Thank you to all the friends and family that loved and helped Alan throughout his life. A memorial service and celebration of Alan’s life will be held Sunday, September 30, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Scot Ward Funeral Services, 699 American Legion Road, Conyers, Georgia, with Pastor Joe Hughes officiating.
