Alice Earlene Wright
February 15, 1936 - February 12, 2022
Alice Earlene Wright, born in Elmhurst, Illinois, embodied our country's Greatest Generation. Her unwavering faith in Christ saw her and the family through tribulations and celebrations. As a depression-era child, she lived through lean times and developed her fierce determination and unapologetic pragmatism. Married for over 50 years to the love of her life, together she and Chuck raised two sons, Jeff and Greg. Her focus and passion guided the family and ensured duty to God and Country was a core tenet. As a wife of an Eagle Scout and mother to two Eagle Scouts, she gave much to support the Scouting effort. As a Gold Star mother, she lost Jeff, then a Captain in the Marine Corps, in service to our country. Nonetheless, she went on to fully support Greg throughout a 25-year Marine Corps career, spanning multiple combat deployments and flight operations; her determination and unconditional love never wavered. Alice was emblematic of everything that makes our country, and most importantly, its people great. She loved deeply and was loved. She will be missed dearly. Graveside services will be held Friday, February 18, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Lawnwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at 4:00PM for a Post Service Reception at the American Legion at 4:00PM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Alice to In Touch Ministries or Toughest Kids, Inc. Select 'Veterans' on donation page.
