Edna T. Taylor Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Edna T. Taylor, 98, of Oxford, GA On July 26, 2022, Edna T. Taylor of Oxford, GA passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family at the age of 98. Mrs. Taylor was born on May 18, 1924 in Clarkesville, GA; a daughter of the late Tatum Hubert and Myrtle Elizabeth Alley Taylor. Edna is also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Olin Taylor; her sisters, Ella Stephens, Estelle Gailey, Callie Morrison, Hester Acree; and her brother, Denzer "Bill" Taylor. She is also preceded in death by her son, Dennis Clyde Taylor. Mrs. Taylor's childhood included being raised and working on her family's farm as well as attending Tallulah Falls School for a short time in neighboring Tallulah Falls, GA. She later married and moved to Oakland, CA working for Western Union. After WWII, she returned to Georgia and began her career with General Electric, retiring after 34 years in 1984. In her retirement she was a well-known and respected resident of Walnut Grove, GA. She enjoyed many friendships within the community while also taking care of her grandchildren. Edna was able to travel with her family and had quite a few adventures that included lots laughter and joy. She is survived by her grandchildren: Donna Taylor of Loganville, GA; Shannon Taylor of Sanford, NC; Ryan Taylor and his wife Brittany of Covington, GA; Matthew Taylor of Covington, GA; and great-grandchildren: Patrick Bankston and Seamus Smith of Loganville, GA; Madison, Ethan, and Charlee Taylor of Covington, GA; LaShay, Matthew Jr., and Tristan Taylor of Covington, GA. Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 4, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens with Pastor Joe Hughes officiating.
