James Manning 'Jim' Grover, Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

James Manning Grover, Jr. was born in Pascagoula, Mississippi to Mary S. Grover and James Manning Grover, Sr. on April 16, 1932. He passed away peaceful at the age of 90 with his loving wife and daughters by his side on Monday, July 25, 2022. Mr. Grover was well-loved by many and known to all as an avid toy collector aka 'The Little Toy Man'. He also loved and enjoyed his time with his Mr. Sweepy friends and won many contest over the years. He proudly served his Country in The United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Grover will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 67 years, Janice Grover; his daughters, Cindy Banks, Donna and Ricky Edwards and Christie Phillips; his grandchildren, Nicole and Tommy Baker, Waver and Shannon Griffis, Christi Banks and Scotty, JD and Amanda Carter, Kennedy Phillips, Baileigh Edwards and Morgan Phillips; his great-grandchildren, Blake Griffis, Kaylyn Baker and Chase, Casey Banks, Paytyn Baker, Elijah Griffis, Gracie Griffis, Kenleigh Griffis, Alyssa Gilbert, Summer Jacques, Landon Griffis and Waylyn Baker; his great-great grandchild, Mason Cartledge; his sister-in-law, Pat Grover; his life-long friends of North Carolina, Jean, Lori and Butch Reynolds; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends whom he loved dearly. Mr. Grover was preceded in death by his parents. Mary S. Grover and James Manning Grover Sr.; his son, James Manning Grover, III; his grandson, James Manning Grover, IV; his siblings, Bill, Johnny and Theo; and his life-long friend, Charles Reynolds. A gathering will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Scot Ward Funeral Services from 3-5 pm in the reception hall. In Lieu of flowers, the family request that a monetary donation be made in loving memory of Jake Grover to one of the following organizations: Camp Twin Lakes in Rutledge, GA, Aflac Cancer Center-Children's Healthcare of Atlanta or The Shepherd Center.
