Jimmy Melvin Harris, age 82 of Covington, formerly of Hwy 155 in Stockbridge, died Thursday, April 14, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Alma Harris; sister, Clara Palmer; and brother, Carlton L. Harris. He is survived by wife of 57 years, Patsy Harris; special friends, Cindy Nash King and her husband Jim King; Larry Chesser, Jenny Tallant, Gwen Popp, and Laura Caudle. He was a graduate of SW Dekalb High School and later became owner operator of Harris Brothers Construction. Jimmy was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and is currently a member of Brushy Knob Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and fish or anything outdoors. Gardening was something he enjoyed. A love for horses was a big part of his life as he showed horses for 25 years, he and his wife loved serving family and friends in their church and community. Entombment Services will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Eastlawn Memorial Park, 640 McGarity Rd, McDonough, GA 30252 with Rev. James Ward officiating.
