Mae Marie Smith Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mae Marie Smith, 90, of Conyers, wife of the late Hershal Dewey Smith, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 25, 2022, at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle. Born in Greenville, SC, May 2, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Maybelle Walraven Parker and James Arthur Parker. She is survived by her son, David Smith of Scotdale; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Roger Waters of Conyers; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Jerry Sirmans of Conyers; five grandchildren, Michael Waters and wife, Laurie; Melody Mann and husband, Kevin; Parker Smith; Erin Leigh Sirmans; Emma Sirmans; and six great-grandchildren, Jackson Mann, Cooper Mann, Blakely Waters, Brooks Mann, Hadley Waters and Jase Mann. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Joy and John T. Powell of Cleveland, GA, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Marie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. God and family were the most important things in her life. She also loved hiking, football, family gatherings, music, playing the piano and going to church. She loved flowers and was a master gardener. Her love for God, family and friends is one that we will never forget. Her Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Scot Ward’s Green Meadow Chapel with Roger Waters and George Lipscomb officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens.
