Mary Cook Fontaine

Mrs. Mary Ann Cook Fontaine departed this life on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Piedmont Hospital, Conyers, GA. She was born on February 5, 1945 to the late William I. Cook, Sr. and the late Beulah G. Cook in Martinsville, VA. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her father, William I. Cook, Sr.; mother, Beulah G. Cook; two brothers, William I. Cook, Jr and James E. Cook; and two sisters, Gwendolyn Cook and Carolyn Cook. A stranger to no one, and always a loving and devoted sister and friend, she leaves behind her husband, Marvin Fontaine, Sr., two sons, Marvin (Patricia) Fontaine, Jr. and Marvis (Tirzah) Fontaine, and two daughters, Marlessia Yancey and Marlia (Ryan) Fontaine-Weisse. Mary Ann also leaves behind two sisters, Jackie Mosley of Greensboro, N.C., and Penny Parker of Charlotte, N.C., four brothers, Michael (DeeDee) Cook of Martinsville, VA, Melvin Cook of Milton, NC, Marvin (Leslie) Cook of Lithonia, GA, and Ricky Cook of Greensboro, N.C., 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends to cherish her memory. Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the Scot Ward Green Meadow Memorial Gardens. A public viewing will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the Scot Ward Funeral Services Chapel, 699 American Legion Rd., Conyers, GA 30012.
