Thomas Edward Gattis, Sr., age 94 of Conyers, died Tuesday, June 7, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Park Gattis; parents, Bernice and Ella Mae Gattis; daughter, Lynn Gattis McLendon; brothers Bernice Gattis, Jr. and Lamar Gattis. Mr. Gattis is survived by daughter; Pam Gattis Evans; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas 'Tommy' and Harriet Gattis, Jr.; son-in-law, Derrill McLendon; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Doyle and Shirley Gattis; sisters and brother-in-law, Shirley Gattis Millar, Amanda Gattis and Cleveland Digby. Mr. Gattis was a member of Conyers First United Methodist Church and retired as a supervisor with Ford Motor Company. He was a veteran of the United States Army and in the 1st Infantry 'Big Red 1' during WWII. He was a sign painter, owner of Rebel Boat Works and did the lettering on the Pullman Trains and was an officer of the Mustang Club. Funeral Service will be held Friday, June 10, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Pastor Chris Shurtz officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens.
