Verdas Gholston, Sr.

Verdas Gholston, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. Verdas was born in Pine Mountain, GA on September 25, 1938, to the late Tommie and Julia Gholston. He was preceded in death by 11 siblings. He was also preceded in death on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy Gore Gholston. She was born in Fort Valley, Georgia to the late Robert and Catherine Gore and was preceded in death by 2 siblings. Verdas retired from Essex Group as a machine operator in 2003. He was a loving husband and father. He was very active and enjoyed working in his yard and gardening. He was a 'Mr. Fix It' around the house and always kept a well detailed vehicle. He enjoyed watching TV Westerns and listening to R&B, Blues, and Soul music. He is survived by two children: Rita (daughter) and Jay (son). He is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews.
