Willie Morell Jr.

February 17, 1939 - March 27, 2020

Willie Morell, Jr, age 81, of Decatur GA passed away Friday, March 27, 2020 due to complications from COVID-19. Willie was born in Springfield GA to Paulene Eason and Johnny Stephens. He was later adopted and raised by his parents Lester and Rosa Morell. He migrated to Detroit, Michigan where he lived for several years and subsequently moved to Chicago. He met and married Charlene Morell (Journigan) and they remained happily married for 51 years. They subsequently moved back to Effingham County in 1978 where they remained until they moved to the Atlanta area to be closer to their children in 2013. Willie was preceded in death by his loving wife Charlene, his parents: Paulene Eason, Johnny Stephens, Lester and Rosa Morell, his daughter Renee Holliday, his siblings: John M Stephens Jr (Felix), Ruby Brown (Oldest Sister), Zeigler Morell, Benjamin Eason Jr., He is survived by his children: Keith Holliday (Kathy), Richard Holliday, Cherryl Holliday (Chris Donelson), Karen Rice (Cedric), Micha Holliday, Yolanda Curtis; His Siblings: Ronald Stephens, William Stephens (LaMonica), Patricia Rutledge, Chiquita Armstrong (Curtis), Karen Cooper, Lucia Simmons (Markell), Morris Morell (Ella), Isaiah Eason, Clayton Eason, Roy Eason (Helen), Lois Eason, Sandra Stephens(Rufus), Vanda Webster(Ken), Alveta Eason, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other family. Willie was a member of Teamsters Local 710 and Millers Chapel Missionary Baptist Church of Conyers. In his heyday, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, grilling and any outside work (farm and otherwise). Thank you dad, for putting up with all of the shenanigans of your children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
