Daylen Folsom December 18, 1946 - December 15, 2024 Daylen Folsom, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024, just days shy of his 78th birthday. Born on December 18, 1946, in Stella, Missouri, Dale lived a life defined by service, love, and faith. From humble beginnings in Missouri to a distinguished military career, Dale's journey was one of unwavering dedication. He served his country for 21 years in the United States Air Force as an aircraft mechanic, an achievement that included the distinct honor of maintaining Air Force One. His career took him across the country, from Washington, D.C., to Altus, Oklahoma, and Tacoma, Washington, where he honed his skills and created lifelong memories. After retiring from the Air Force, Dale continued to follow his passion for aviation by working for Boeing. Dale's life was more than his career; it was defined by the love he shared with his family. He met the love of his life, Susan, in California, and together they built a beautiful marriage spanning nearly six decades. Their enduring love story set a powerful example of devotion and partnership, a legacy that lives on in their children and grandchildren. Dale often reflected on his family with pride. A man of faith, Dale loved Jesus and lived by example-he was generous, selfless, and always ready to lend a hand. Whether he was tinkering with cars, casting a fishing line, or sharing stories, Dale's warmth, humor, and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone he met. He loved airplanes, his family, and the simple joy of time spent together. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Dayton Folsom. He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Folsom; his children, Christina (Steve) Schaff and David (Lisa) Folsom; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Patrick) Clark, Tasha (Seth) Keasling, Joshua Lustenberger (Emily Ring), Derieck (Kailea) Folsom, Jessica (Erik) Czechowski, Ciara Schaff (Myles Mertz) and Sheridan (Juan) Melgoza; and his great-grandchildren, Jasmine Folsom, Whittlee Hutchison, Jade Folsom, Tiffany Lustenberger, Jasper Clark, and Lainey Keasling. He is also survived by his brother, Dwaine Folsom, as well as countless friends, loved ones, and members of his church community. Dale will be remembered for his steadfast faith, boundless kindness, and enduring love for his family. His legacy of love, service, and devotion lives on in all who had the privilege of knowing him. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Scot Ward Funeral Services, 699 American Legion Rd., Conyers, GA. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, December 28th at 2:00 PM at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel, with interment immediately following at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens.
