Faye Kelley

KELLEY, Faye P. Mrs. Faye P. Kelley, a lovely, sweet, accommodating octogenarian, passed from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Friday, April 6,2012, due to some very serious, rare diseases which overpowered her body. Mrs. Kelley served the Rockdale Public Schools as a secretary at four different schools, Upper Elementary School, Main Street Elementary, J.P. Carr Junior High School and Honey Creek Elementary School where she was universally loved and respected by the faculty, staff and student body. One of her unofficial titles was the "tooth lady" because youngsters would come to her to pull a baby tooth that was just barely hanging on. Faye was a longtime member and an award winning Secretary of the Conyers Lions Club, the secretary of the Conyers 1st United Methodist Church women's Dorcas Circle, a former Secretary of the Maxwell Sunday School Class of the Conyers First United Methodist Church, a Master Gardener, a serious volunteer for community and church service, including arriving at the church at 7:00 A. M. every Sunday to prepare the church service bulletins. She was truly an angel on earth. Mrs. Kelley is survived by her husband of more than 61 years, Robert M. "Bob" Kelley, sons Joel C. and Leann Kelley of Asheville, N.C., Robert M. "Rob" and Theresa Kelley of McDonough, Georgia, William Lee (Bill) and Rhonda Kelley of Bremen, GA, daughter Dr. Cindy and Charles Truett of Bethlehem, GA.; 14 grandchildren, Erin Kelley, Ryan Kelley, Rochelle Kelley Moore, Clair Kelley, Jennifer Kelley Sadler, Celina Kelley, Danielle Kelley, Michael Kelley, Nickolas Kelley, Kelli Truett Spinks, Katie Truett Nesbitt, Jeff Taylor, Shelby Taylor and Patrick Kelley along with 5 great grandchildren; Mother, 99 year old Lorene Pittman, Siblings, Charles Pittman, Bobbie Plowman, and Jack Pittman all of Tuscaloosa, AL, and numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her Father, Joel W. Pittman, and Siblings, Jorene Montgomery and David Pittman of Tuscaloosa, AL. Faye enjoyed spending time with her family, especially watching the University of Alabama play football with her husband and college sweetheart Bob. She loved making quilts, gardening, and she would spend countless hours working word puzzles. While Heaven has gained a new angel, the family and community have lost a valuable asset which can never be regained. The family wishes to express its appreciation to the health care providers for their concerns and efforts. Pall bearers will be grandchildren and Honorary Pall bearers will be the Maxwell Sunday School Class, The Conyers Lions Club and the R.O.M.E.O. Club. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Scot Ward’s Green Meadow Chapel, 699 American Legion Road, Conyers, Georgia. Funeral services will be at The Conyers First United Methodist Church, 921 N. Main Street, Conyers, GA at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, April 9, 2012, with Dr. John Beyers and Rev.
