Genelle Veal

Genelle G. Veal, 83, of Conyers, Georgia, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 26, 2026, at North Georgia Assisted Living in Dawsonville. Born on May 26, 1942, she was the daughter of the late A.M. and Harriet Grier of Alto, Georgia, and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 48 years, William Don Veal Sr. She is survived by her son, Don Veal Jr. of Conyers; her daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and John Dean of Dawsonville; her grandson Ryan Dean, and her granddaughters, Ashley Dean and Taylor (Ryan) Wnek; and great-granddaughter, Bentley. Genelle was a devoted and lifelong member of Prospect at Oak Hill Church in Covington, where her faith was the foundation of her life. She dearly loved her church family and found great joy in worship, fellowship, and service. For many years, she faithfully taught Sunday School, sharing God's word with generations of children, and gave her time to Vacation Bible School with a joyful heart. She cherished her time with the Surviving Ladies and Golden Age Fellowship, where she formed lasting friendships that meant so much to her. To know Genelle was to feel her warmth, kindness, and unwavering faith. Her church family was truly an extension of her own. Genelle spent 38 years as a food service employee at C.J. Hicks Elementary School, where she shared her love of cooking with others and was known for her kind heart and strong work ethic. Genelle also dedicated many years to serving others in her community through her volunteer work at Westbury Rehabilitation Center, where she brought smiles to residents by baking cakes and spending time playing bingo. Her giving spirit and gentle presence left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Above all, Genelle's greatest joy was her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter, Bentley, who brought her endless happiness. She will be deeply missed by her children, her church family, and all who were blessed to know and love her. Funeral services will be handled by Scot Ward Funeral Services in Conyers on Thursday, April 30th, with visitation from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by the service officiated by Rev.
