Gloria Kay King

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gloria Kay King, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, who left this earthly world on June 1, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on September 7, 1946, in French Camp, Mississippi, Gloria lived a life in both love and faith. Gloria was the cherished daughter of Ernest and Mary Dean Crowder. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, William "Bill" King, who was her partner in every sense of the word. Together, they created a warm and nurturing home for their family. Gloria's legacy continues through her children, Michael (Laura) Duncan and Melissa "Missie" (Charlie) Smith, who carry forward her spirit and values. She is also survived by her sister, Ernestine Schenke. She took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to Chase Duncan, Connor Duncan, Savannah (Luis) Reyes, Tiffany (Nick) Haney, and Caitlin Smith. Her heart filled with joy as she embraced her great-grandchildren, Josiah and Elijah Reyes, who brought her so much happiness. A member of Abiding Grace Lutheran Church, Gloria lived her life anchored in her faith and was a good Christian woman who loved her Lord Jesus Christ deeply. Her faith guided her actions and her interactions with those around her, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her. Gloria was not only known for her unwavering faith but also for her extraordinary talents in the kitchen. She was regarded as the best cook, often bringing loved ones together around her dining table, creating memories over shared meals. Her love for sewing was another cherished hobby, where she often poured her creativity into making special items for her family. The beautiful moments spent at the beach with Bill in Florida were among her most treasured memories. Gloria's nurturing nature extended to her beloved puppy, Maddie, who brought her joy and companionship. She was a devoted daughter and mother. Her dedication to her family was unmatched, and her love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was profound. Her service will be held on Saturday June 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Abiding Grace Lutheran Church 5500 Highway 212 Covington, GA 30016, where family and friends can come together to celebrate her life.
