Juanice Brock Hames

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Juanice Brock Hames, who left us peacefully on May 21, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on July 1, 1937, in Conyers, Georgia, Juanice was a beacon of love and kindness that brightened the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Juanice was the beloved daughter of Oatha Lee and Carolyn Brock, who instilled in her the values of compassion and generosity that she carried throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her cherished parents and her devoted husband, Edward Marvin Hames, with whom she shared 47 wonderful years of marriage. Their bond was a testament to true love, characterized by mutual respect, support, and an unwavering commitment to one another. Throughout her life, Juanice remained connected to her roots in Conyers, where she grew up as a member of Conyers First Baptist Church. Her faith was an integral part of her life, and she later became an active member of Cross Point Church, nurturing her spirituality and sharing her faith with those around her. As a giving person, Juanice touched countless lives - offering her support, friendship, and love to everyone she encountered. Juanice's professional journey began in the field of education, where she dedicated many years to teaching. After retiring, she devoted her time to assisting her husband in his chiropractic business, a role that allowed her to continue giving back to her community in meaningful ways. Juanice's nurturing spirit extended beyond her career; she was a loving sister to Norma (Donald) Rewis, Carolyn (Raymond) Crevis, and Sandra (William) Finch, as well as a beloved aunt to many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews who all adored her. In her leisure time, Juanice found joy in reading, caring for animals, studying God's word, and spending time with her loved ones. From a very early age, her love for reading opened up new worlds for her and served as a source of high achievement and inspiration throughout her life. Juanice's legacy is one of warmth, kindness, and selflessness, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her spirit will live on through the memories she created and the lives she touched. Friends and family will remember her for her giving heart, her unwavering faith, and her love for life. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 25, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Rev. Brandon Wood officiating; interment will follow at East View Cemetery.
