Kevin Charles Hudnall

On February 3, 2022, Kevin Charles Hudnall, devoted husband and father of two wonderful children received a standing ovation for a "job well done" as God called him home at the age of 46. Kevin was born to the union of Mr. Willie and Mrs. Peggy Hudnall on June 30, 1975 in Los Angeles, California. He was Baptized at Blackwater Baptist Church as a young boy in Meridian, Mississippi. Kevin grew up in Los Angeles and enjoyed all the fun of Southern California living. Including its rich music scene, hanging with the fellas, and High School Football! Kevin was a talented football player and #17 was a force to be reckoned with on his high school's defensive line. After graduating from Palisades High School, he attended California State University, Sacramento with a major in Criminal Justice and minor in African American Studies. In 1993 Kevin met Sabrina Jackson and was smitten from the word "Go". Kevin and Sabrina enjoyed dates, school functions, The Prom, and the joys of being teenagers in Southern California. In 1999, after a few years of dating, Kevin married his Soulmate in a quiet ceremony that embodied their love. Quiet, dedicated, personal, and beautiful. They later shared their love and joy with family and friends on June 16, 2000 when they renewed their vows. As their love grew, so did their family. Together, they raised one son, Savion and one daughter, Karma. After pursuing their education further, they moved to Atlanta, Georgia where all their dreams came to fruition. Kevin was wise beyond his age, often using his business acumen to build generational wealth for his family and network or using those "Hudnall Hands" with his natural ability to build and fix anything he saw needed repair. He worked tirelessly to support his family at times working two jobs to make sure that all their needs and desires were covered. His heart and passion for people extended beyond his immediate family as he enjoyed life and always found ways to made sure those close to him were safe, loved on, filled with fun, and always laughing. He was a selfless and compassionate family man and friend who always put God first. He loved traveling and immersing himself in cultural history and food. He was an avid reader and read books related to leadership, motivation, and financial literacy. In December 2021, he answered the call to leadership with excitement to serve as an Executive Board Member of H.I.S. Servant Network, NFP (Hope. Ignite. Soar). He along with Chad Marshall, his close friend who was like a brother partnered to lead the Esquire Men's Ministry. Kevin and Chad were excited to facilitate a series of activities focused on building and supporting men's fellowship in the Greater Atlanta Area. To honor Kevin's life and vision, Chad will press forward with their scheduled inaugural men's retreat that was planned for April of 2022 in GA. He was affectionately known by those close to him as "Kapp", "Big Kev", and his mother would call him her "chocolate drop". To his wife and children, he was the center of their world and his love, strength, and passion for them will always be what lives in their hearts. His legacy will always be remembered by his handsome looks, beautiful and radiant smile, sense of humor, altruistic nature, kind, and compassionate Spirit. He was charismatic, down to earth, creative, hardworking, street smart, and educated. Kevin was preceded in death by his father, Willie Hudnall. He leaves to celebrate his life and uphold his legacy; his wife of 22 years, Sabrina, son Savion (21), daughter Karma (17), Mother Peggy Muckelroy, siblings Rolanda Wallis, Maurietta "Pixie" Wallis, Jerome Wallis (Tracy), Sheree Hudnall, Marvin "Muck" Muckelroy II, Maurice Muckelroy, Myles Muckelroy (Anna), nephews Trey Wallis and Malik Moody, nieces Deztiny Hudnall-Benton and Mya Muckelroy. In addition to these loved ones, there are a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, god-children, and friends who became family. Although he is no longer with us, the bible reminds us that "To be absent from the body is to be present with Christ". We take comfort in knowing that his life here impacted and enriched so many, and that his presence can never be forgotten. Rest well brother Kevin, your labor here is done but your reward is eternal.
