Martha Lee Moore

Martha Lee Moore was born on May 12, 1935, in Hartsville, SC and peacefully entered eternal rest on July 14, 2026, at Piedmont Rockdale Hospital in Conyers, Georgia. Martha was a woman of unwavering faith, remarkable strength and deep devotion to her family. In 1959, she moved to Detroit, Michigan with her young son, Benjamin Franklin Coe, in search of new opportunities and a brighter future. A few years later, she married Edsel Moore and together they welcomed their daughter, Nancy Moore, completing the family she loved so dearly. In 1963, Martha joined City Temple Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Detroit, where she faithfully served on the Usher Board for more than 40 years. She greeted everyone with warmth, kindness and a servant's heart, leaving a lasting impression on all who entered the church. A gifted master seamstress, Martha found joy in sewing and was known for her beautiful craftsmanship. She worked for many years as a Residential Housekeeper until her retirement, taking pride in everything, she did. Martha believed deeply in faith, education and hard work. She instilled those values in her children and took great pride in their accomplishments. She celebrated her son, Benjamin Franklin Coe, for his engineering career with Chrysler and his 24 years of honorable service in the United States Navy. She was equally proud of her daughter, Nancy Moore, who earned her master's degree and enjoyed a distinguished career as Financial Analyst with the State of Georgia for more than 30 years. Although Nancy's life was cut short before she could enjoy retirement. Martha often celebrated her dedication, professionalism and many achievements. In 2012, Martha relocated to Covington, Georgia where she lived with her daughter, Nancy. She became a faithful member of Conyers Seventh-Day Adventist Church and remained active until illness limited her mobility. Martha was known for her independence and her remarkable memory. She could recall birthdays with ease and never forgot the special milestones of those she loved. Her wisdom, resilience and unconditional love will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Nancy Moore, who passed away three years before her; her siblings Laurie Mae Coe McQueen, Queen Ester Coe, Mary Coe, Alean Coe Dowdy, James Coe, David Coe, Cornell Coe, Jr. (Sabrina Almado Coe) and many other cherished relatives and friends. She leaves to cherish her memory; son Benjamin Franklin Coe (Roselyn Coe), Bonus Daughter Bonnie Heath (Donald Heath), siblings, Florie Coe Lighty (William "LP" Lighty), Peggy Brown (late husband Jerome Brown), Ellen Coe Hannibal (late husband Frankie Hannibal), Willie Mae Coe Daniels (late husband Don Daniels), sister-in-law Zahara Coe (late husband David Coe); grandchildren, Jamar Coe, Danielle Mitchell (Jeremy Mitchell), Aaliyah Coe; great-grandchildren, Jaquan Vines, Karina Mitchell and Azel Crowder. Martha Lee Moore leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, perseverance and unconditional love. Her life touched countless people through her kindness, strength and unwavering commitment to her family and her church. Though she is no longer with us in body, her love and the values she instilled will continue to guide generations to come.
