Mary B. O'Neill

Mary O'Neill of Greensboro, Georgia, lost her battle with Alzheimer's on June 24, 2023. She was born on January 3, 1940 in Dublin, GA. Mary was one of the first female bartenders in Atlanta at the San Souci downtown, where she met Daniel J. O'Neill, and later married in 1973. She was later co-owner of La Boutique in Conyers. She was loved by her family and her many friends and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Mary's family was undoubtedly the most important aspect of her life. She was devoted to her daughter, Wendy and her grandchildren, Morgan and McCall. From the time her grandchildren were born she adored them and they were her everything. Her time spent with them made such an impact on their life as they were growing up doing activities like weekends at the lake, having milkshake parties in bed, popcorn and movie night with Pops, tea parties and playing beauty shop. As they got older, she was not only Nana but a confidant and best friend. Mary had a full life with her many friends. She was such an outgoing individual with such a vibrant personality. Mary could start a conversation with anyone and instantly become friends. She also had a very active lifestyle, playing golf, tennis and card games with friends at Honey Creek Golf Club in Conyers, Reynolds Plantation and Dell Webb at Lake Oconee. Mary also enjoyed parties and dancing, where she probably was the belle of the ball. All animals were loved by her, especially her beloved dog, Silas, who survives her. They walked the streets of Dell Webb morning, noon, and night, and sometime even in the middle of the night. Her love of animals she passed on to her loving daughter, Wendy. Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, her mother, Ola Bell Burney, and her granddaughter, Lauren McCall Weaver. She is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Ricky) Harp of Fayetteville and her granddaughter, and Mary Morgan Weaver of Atlanta. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 2:00 pm, at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Pastor Joe Hughes officiating.
