Myrtle Harris

Myrtle Potts Harris, 92 of Oldsmar, FL relocated to Heaven Thursday, October 11, 2012. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by family. Myrtle was born in Atlanta, GA July 15, 1920. She was the youngest of five born to Joseph Samuel Potts and Myrtie Stanton Potts. Visitation with family will be Monday, October 15, 2012 from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the old Chapel at Ebenezer Methodist Church, 2533 Stanton Road SE, Conyers, GA 30094 with Pastor Walt Harris officiating; interment will be behind the church following the service. In 1941 Myrtle married Walter H. Harris, Jr. They owned and operated Harris Hardware on Lavista Rd in Atlanta. Myrtle worked a substation Post Office located in the back of the store. Walter loved doing Magic Shows and being assisted by Myrtle. Making people laugh and smile was something they enjoyed doing. They were active members of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Atlanta. After 28 years of marriage Walter passed in 1969. They had three children together. Five years later she met and married Ralph M. Tanner. They moved to Palm Harbor, FL in 1980 and enjoyed their retirement years playing golf and playing bridge with friends. After 27 years of marriage Ralph passed in 2001. Being the warm loving woman Myrtle was she was blessed to find love for the third time. In 2002 she married Luther J. Bunge. They had 10 years together enjoying travel and playing bridge. She was preceded in death by her parents; 4 siblings; a nephew; a great-nephew; and two husbands. She is survived by her husband, Luther Bunge; her three children, Walter (Jerry) Harris and his wife, Sandra of Lula, GA, Sam Harris and his wife, Mary of Roswell, GA, and Joy Harris of Oldsmar, FL; 4 grandchildren, Walter (Huck) Harris and his wife, Sonya of Winder, GA, Teri Rudisill and her husband, Bill of Grayson, GA, Stephanie Harris of Palm Harbor, FL and Sam Harris of Roswell, GA; 7 great-grandchildren, Jamie Harris of New Castle, CO, Ian, Alyssia and Seth Harris of Winder, GA, Ansley, Evan and Holly Rudisill of Grayson, GA; 5 step-children, Marshall, Steve and Michael Tanner, Patricia and Ed Bunge.
