Nellie Wayne Adams

Nellie Wayne Adams (Nell), age 93 of Conyers died on Saturday, June 6, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Skinner of Tifton; her husband, Lloyd Adams of Conyers; and grandson, Kris Adams of Mansfield. Also, her sisters, Jean Bryant of Conyers, Frances Mathis of Tifton, Essie May of Jesup and brothers, Johnny Skinner of Tifton, Albert Skinner of Tifton, and Chester Skinner of Conyers. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Bonnie Adams of Sugar Hill and Kenny and Karen of Mansfield. Grandchildren, Kellie and Dave Courter, Kim and Stephen Cook, Kevin Adams, Kody and Amber Adams. Great Grandchildren Aubrey Adams, Abby Adams, Kane Adams, Ava Grace Courter, Luke Courter. Mrs. Adams was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church of Social Circle. She was a volunteer for several Church ministries including Willing Helpers Medical Clinic and Food Ministry for 15 years. She also was a Pink Lady volunteer with Rockdale Hospital for many years. She graduated from Tifton High School and then moved to Atlanta to begin working. Here she met and married Lloyd Adams. He was serving in the U.S. Army and after his discharge started working in the appliance repair industry where he eventually owned and opened Adams Appliance Service. Later Lloyd Adams was called into ministry and founded Mt. Olive Baptist Church where he was pastor until his retirement. They had been married for 64 years until his death in 2017. Mrs. Adams leavers a legacy of faith and love. She was devoted to her family, and her greatest joy was spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren. Among the favorite things she loved to do was to go camping with her family and many friends. She was a great cook and loved preparing meals for the ones she loved. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 12, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Pastor Mike Franklin officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
