Sandra Louise Wilkinson

Sandra Louise Wilkinson, 83, of Loganville, GA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Saturday, July 4th, 2026, after a short battle with cancer. She was born to Larry Allen and Sadie Green Wilkinson of Decatur, Georgia, on March 7th, 1943. Sandra grew up in Decatur, GA, and graduated from Southwest DeKalb High School in 1961. After graduating, for a short time, she worked at Woolworth on Broad St., Atlanta. Later, she began her career with DeKalb County Government in Decatur. After 34 years at the county, she retired in 1998 to take care of her mother, and shortly after moved to Loganville to be closer to family. In her retirement, after her mother passed away, she worked part time at the Hallmark Card Shop in Snellville and Stone Mountain for 8 years. She was a loyal member of Hardeman Primitive Baptist Church for 63 years, and was strong in her faith. She was also a lover of Sacred Harp singing. You could always find her singing alto at a singing. She was fortunate to enjoy a long retirement - she enjoyed traveling, and went on several extensive trips with Christian Tours over the years. In recent years, she enjoyed going to trivia, music bingo, going to weekly lunches with "the Lunch Crew" ladies, and occasional outings with her friends from Hallmark. She frequently joked with her close family that her schedule was "packed". She loved her family immensely. She recently made the comment that her Lord Jesus Christ had guided her through her entire life and blessed her far beyond measure. She had a heart of gold and a gentle and generous spirit that will truly be missed. She was preceded in death by her parents; several aunts and uncles; and brother-in-law, Tom Hanson. She is survived by her sister, Carol W. Hanson of Grayson; niece, Leslie Hanson (Heather Willett) of Tucker; nephew, Russ Hanson of Grayson; her two cat companions, Zoe and Zac; several cousins and special friends. A very special thank you to close cousin, Brenda Leavelle, for her constant support and loyalty to our family throughout Sandra's illness. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hardeman Primitive Baptist Church c/o Russ Hanson, 1705 Arborwood Dr., Grayson, GA 30017. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Hardeman Primitive Baptist Church; interment will follow at Hardeman Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
