Virginia Dawn Doster

DOSTER, Dawn Ms. Virginia Dawn Doster, age 49 of Covington, passed at her home on Wednesday, January 29, 2014. She was preceded in death by her father, Randall Doster and uncle, Alan Moore. She is survived by her mother, Ginger Bragg Doster, Covington; brother, Dean and wife, Elizabeth; nieces, Kylie and Korie, all of Sharpsburg; aunts and uncles, Shirley Moore, Lee and Susie Moore, all of Conyers, Marty and Ann Moore of Greensboro, Dana and Kris Campbell of Loganville, Tiger and Kathy Bragg of Covington, Ray and Bunny Doster of Duluth; many cousins; special friend, Teresa Shirley and special family friend, Ruthie Sammons. Dawn grew up in Conyers but during her lifetime attended the Atlanta Speech School and the Area School for the Deaf experiencing total communication. The programs were integrated in the DeKalb School System and she graduated from Clarkston High School. Dawn was very artistically inclined. While at the Atlanta Speech School her artwork was selected for the school's Christmas card and at Clarkston she designed yearbooks and helped with set decorations for school plays. She also loved sports and played on many soccer, basketball and softball teams. During one of her soccer games at Clarkston High School, Dawn scored a goal from behind the midfield goal line with her left foot. She enjoyed watching the Georgia Bulldogs and autumn was her favorite time of year. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Scot Ward's Green Meadow Chapel with Dr. Jim Ross officiating; interment will follow at Green Meadow Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends for visitation and refreshments in the reception hall at the funeral home after the interment. While in Newton Medical Hospital and Abbey Hospice, Dawn had a reputation of never complaining but smiling and joking with the nurses and doctors. Her personality was warm even though she went through many hard and painful times. She loved angels and we believe she is one. We cherish the time God loaned her to us.
